The Oklahoma Public School
Resource Center provides

public schools across the state the resources they need to unburden administrators, support teachers, and most importantly, engage students. While membership in the OPSRC is open to all public schools in Oklahoma, we are particularly focused on meeting the needs of smaller schools and districts. They typically lack a large central/administrative office found in larger districts, and the services OPSRC offers are tailored to help address the administrative challenges they face.

Teaching & Learning

The Teaching and Learning team is dedicated to providing quality professional development in the areas of classroom management, classroom content and leadership development. The team provides a published PD calendar as well as customized professional development topics that meet the unique needs of your school/district. Team members use their 60 years of combined educational experience in every grade level to provide PD at your site, at centralized statewide locations or at the OPSRC training center.

Our expectation is: Learn Now, Expand Today, Use Tomorrow.

Finance

The Finance team provides a range of services to meet your needs. We can help set up expenditure and income budgets for one year or over a 5 to 6-year term, provide analysis of current trends in the state education budget and help provide answers to school business questions. We train in all areas of school finance, including health care reporting, coding for various programs and references and resources for help in various areas of school business. We will also design special projects for our members upon request. Our goal is to help districts build a strong set of easily-readable financial documents to help them make informed decisions.

Technology

The Technology team provides assistance to schools with technical issues and provides training and workshops on pressing technology topics. The team is available to assist with continuity plans, eRate applications and other school and district technology decisions. Technology workshops focus on topics of interest, including iPads in the classroom, Web 2.0, The Flipped Classroom model, district websites, and iBooks Author.

Communications

The goal of the Communications team is simple: we want to ensure you have the tools you need to successfully convey messages to your community. It is essential for schools to actively engage and inform parents, district stakeholders and the media, and with the right tools and preparation, you can control your message and promote transparency. We can provide training on media interviews, help with press releases and statements, help you build thorough crisis communication plans and social media policies and increase your presence on social media outlets. Have other communication needs not listed? Just let us know, and we are happy to help!

Testimonials

"OPSRC has been a very positive experience for me this year! Through them, my school was able to get a fantastic deal for funding our NWEA testing we use for RSA. My assistant principal and I have also attended an incredible 2-day workshop on listening and having those hard conversations–it was invaluable and I have applied what I learned ever since!"

Amy Moyer, Lower Elementary Principal with Verdigris Public Schools

"OPSRC’s legal team is doing a tremendous job in addressing several legal needs we have had this past year, including assisting our school with revisions and updates to our student handbook. Further, we will be using OPSRC’s services for our website next year, which our technology coordinator is very excited about.  We were convinced after seeing how user-friendly and cost effective the offering is!"

Karen Castonguay, Superintendent & HS Principal for Lomega Public Schools

"The Oklahoma Public School Resource Center has provided El Reno Public Schools with continuous legal assistance and strategic public relations support, and I have been overwhelmingly pleased with not only their response time, but also the quality and quantity of service.  If I need them, they’ve been there, and I know I can rely on their staff to provide thorough and thoughtful solutions to issues we face.  I am confident this relationship will continue to prove invaluable for our district, and I look forward to partnering with them for teacher training and enriching our classroom resources."
